Blue Suicides Painting

I am an intuitive self taught artist. I began my creative process as a child as a self soothing technique. Product of the foster care system, art was my only stability. Art held many positions in my life, my therapist, my best friend, my only friend at times and most importantly my hope. Unfortunately art was put aside as a young adult while I pursued a nursing career and started a family. In 2014 I began revisiting my creative nature. In February 2017 I had to walk away from my nursing career due to health issues and being plagued with 14 total overlapping autoimmune conditions. Essentially homebound now art has come to the rescue to save me once again. I create a wide variety of art from mixed media collages, digital art, drawings, paintings as well as sculptures. To the average individual my art may appear unorganized without any direction because I lack a particular style. This is just who I am as an artist and I wouldn't change it for the world. I do not wish to conform to any particular style, I want to be free in my art endeavours. My art is completely intuitively created without an ounce of premeditated ideation. I allow my subconscious to take over and paint what it feels. I allow the art to use my hands to manifest into what it wishes to become without thought much of a finished product. It is truly an interesting process for me as I often see forgotten reflections of the past embedded into my creation. I have a rather frenzied creation process that shies away from conventional techniques. Let's just say I hate painting with paint brushes. My choice of tool is also just as intuitively picked as the actual artwork itself. Although I am not extremely well known in the art community as of yet, I have roughly 150 pieces spread out in private collections worldwide.
