This bold little composition depicts bottles of alcohol and shot glasses rendered in simplified shapes in paper cut outs. It is a funny and playful reference to drinking and was made during the lockdown in London during the Coronavirus pandemic where British people took to drinking from home a lot. The different mediums used to colour the paper before it was cut out offer qa variety of textures on the bottles and glasses which contrast to the simplicity of the background which is one plain colour. A strong yellow ochre.

I am a visual artist based in London. My paintings are either entirely abstract or loosely figurative with an autobiographical theme. I work from memory and loose studies, with an emphasis on colour and bold mark-making and an interest in pattern. I am also the founder of Sketchout, the company that runs drawing workshops in London museums and my book "The Big Painting Challenge" is available online.
