"Bouquet 005" Painting

I believe art to be a pure reflection of the artist’s temperament and individual state of mind in correspondence with their surroundings. For this reason I have mainly been influenced by abstract impressionism. Through encapsulating this style, I accurately capture the impact of my visionary experiences whilst, exploring the fine line between figurative and abstract. The work itself is unstructured and spontaneous brought to life by a flurry of intense colours. However, although the forms are abstracted, one can still interpret the subjects I have based them off; flowers, landscapes, cityscapes.

I see myself as a poet who tells a story through the language of colour, form and texture. I have no pre-conceived ideas about the end result therefore, I always fully immerse myself in the emotional process of its construction, letting my subconscious decide the fate of the painting. It’s crucial for me to find the balance between the exact form and the abstract elements of my subject. Subsequently, my intentions are focused on creating honest and organic movements; to achieve this I use whatever is needed including brushes, tools and my hands.

My works express a variety of concepts, which I hope allow the viewer to interpret them through a personal feeling of deep emotional connection. My intent is for my work to communicate both the familiarity and depth of a fleeting moment.
