BIOGRAPHY

My artistic journey began in childhood, when as a little girl I sold my drawings to passers-by in front of my house, calling out: “5 cents, 10 cents, cheap, cheap!” Even then, I dreamed of becoming an artist.

Born in Québec City, Canada, in 1976, I earned a diploma in Graphic Design from Collège de Sherbrooke in 1999. I spent the following twelve years working as a graphic designer and art director before turning to independent creative work in 2012. For more than a decade, I explored handmade creations, illustration, and surface pattern design, developing a strong love of colour, composition, and visual storytelling.

In 2023, I finally turned to painting professionally, bringing together these years of creative experience with a long-standing desire to explore painting as a form of personal expression.

I create from the quietness of my lakefront studio in Saint-Mathieu-du-Parc, QC, with my cat Cocotte by my side.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work is an invitation to imagine, explore, and see nature through a playful and colourful lens. Inspired by organic forms, landscapes, gardens, and the endless possibilities of the imagination, I create richly detailed compositions where natural elements intertwine and take on a life of their own.

My paintings are rooted in a love of colour, pattern, and visual abundance. I enjoy filling the canvas with shapes, details, and unexpected little stories, creating worlds that feel both familiar and imaginary. There is often a touch of humour and folk-art spirit in my work, along with an expressive, intuitive approach to colour and form.

Above all, I want my paintings to evoke a sense of wonder and joy — to invite viewers to slow down, wander through the image, and perhaps imagine themselves somewhere within it.
