Breakthrough Painting

As a figurative painter, I see auras of colors, that perhaps others do not. Walking one day, this woman turned, and her glance haunted me. Committed to memory, I had to capture her soulful look on canvas. Those eyes spoke to me. There was thought, emotion, loneliness, pain, so much, all at once. And I felt, in some way she had created a barrier of sorts that maybe she was attempting to get through. Almost a heaviness of emotion surrounding her. The colors surrounding her face are not dark, suggesting she can get past it all; yet the coloration does seem like it could overtake her face. Quite a dichotomy of emotion. The very colorful application of facial paint, may be a bit of a distraction but leads you to the penetrating glance.....which could belong to any woman..............
