"Budgerigar" Painting

My painting is a search – for an inner voice, a feeling, a place in the world. I work figuratively, moving between the naive and the realistic, between the intuitive and the deliberate. By combining these approaches, I create works that often exist in the space between dream and reality.

I’m drawn to the quiet, to what moves beneath the surface. The figures in my paintings are caught in a kind of inner dialogue – their gazes, their postures, their relationships to their surroundings speak of something that can’t always be put into words.

My compositions shift between the figurative and the abstract. Figures and landscapes often emerge gradually, sometimes only hinted at through layers of color and light. I work in layers, slowly building each painting to create a sense of depth – a space for reflection, where the eye is invited to pause and wander.

I’m inspired by Nordic nature, symbolism, and atmosphere. Color and texture are essential tools for me – it’s often through the act of painting itself that something unexpected appears, something I couldn’t have planned.

For me, painting is a way of listening inward. I hope that feeling comes through to the viewer, and perhaps creates a space for introspection and recognition.
