ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Bumblebee Atlas" is a diptych (2 panel) abstract landscape informed by colors, lines, and movement seen and felt in the fields and gardens of summer. Life and color vibrate in tomato reds, aqua blue, bright green, and brilliant yellows, interjected with black gestural lines buzzing with depth and energy. Please see additional photos for details. Each panel's full size is 72H x 55W inches, leaving ample canvas to mount on 1.5" deep stretcher bars to its 100W x 67H x 1.5D inches image as shown. It's signed on back, and ships, carefully prepared, in a tube. This is especially safe for oversized works. Rolled canvas can be easily stretched (placed onto wooden stretcher bars) and/or framed by a local framer. "Bumblebee Atlas" is a bold, beautiful statement piece for a modern space.

Featured in Saatchi Art collections and catalog, Michelle Louis is a full-time painter based near Madison, Wisconsin. Her work has been in numerous exhibitions, and included in corporate, public, and private collections throughout the United States and abroad, including the National Gallery of Costa Rica. She's licensed work to designers and consultants for projects large and small. "Artist and naturalist, I'm curious about how nature inspires awe, how we feel it deep in our bones, how to express that connection, and what we can learn from it. My process-focused work explores balance, pattern, and connection in a complex world. Celebrating Nature through form and movement, I want to show you how Nature and time constantly expand and contract all around us. I hope my work serves as a reminder to be receptive to beauty and mystery. Whether artist or viewer, individual life experience makes its way into every artwork while Nature reminds us we are all part of something larger." Trained in studio art, graphic design, and landscape architecture, Michelle Louis' studio extends to her yard, where she nurtures an edible landscape. BA, University of Wisconsin, USA.
