Art Description

Painting: Oil on Canvas.

Like a 1950's urban bullfight, a woman walks toward a Deuce Roadster as if the flag she is about to swing to start the race is a cape. This 1932 Ford has been transformed into a street racing machine. I think of Springsteen's "Racing In the Street" and "Blinded by the Light". "Cut loose like a Deuce", he sings. I can hear the tires squeal and smell the gasoline.

“California Deuce (Carmelita)” was exhibited at The Other Art Fair in Chicago in September 2018, the Fabrik Contemporary Art Expo in Los Angeles in October 2018, and at The Other Art Fair Los Angeles at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica in October 2018.
