Camden market: The flea market in London. In an century where everything is changing, and changing quickly, there are still some places where nothing has changed: a thing of the past in a middle of a very modern and moving city: London. There, you can buy vinyl's from the seventies, dress with forties' skirts and jackets and listen to sixties' music. There is a special atmosphere for treasure hunters, smells of wood and leather. Outside there are smells of fish and chips and curry that invite you to travel in others parts of the world. It's a time machine... This painting is a feel god painting a painting of a comfortable atmosphere where you are cut from the violence and the problems of the world. The warm colors of the lamps give the atmosphere a nice cosiness. I put a first layer of red-orange colours on which i painted the details of the painting. This first layer gives a warm touch to the painting. It's a feel good painting: I played with warm colours to give a nice feeling of nostalgy Acrylic on canvas protected by acrylic varnish ready to hang on a wall no need to frame

Born in Boulogne-Billancourt (92) near Paris Professional painter, I live and work in Gif-sur-Yvette (91) Chevreuse Valley near Paris 2008-2018: Paintings course in Paris area with professional painters from Fine Art Paris. From 2017: Personal and collective show in France, and London (Art Fair 2018) Living in a big city for half my life has greatly influenced my work. I have a fascination for cities: noisy, overwhelming and lively, yet hiding people loneliness. I paint mostly urban landscapes: the interiors (shops, cafe, theatre house) full of details and colourful with very few details for the people: they are just part of the scenery but not important to me. I’ve worked for the theatre for ten years and that experience gave me a love of colours, of framing my subject a certain way. I’m not looking for reproduction of the reality but for an emotion I want to convey in my paintings. My work is made of lots of layers of acrylic on a canvas, quick rough brush strokes and vivid colours. I use acrylic because it’s a medium that corresponds to my character: I’m impatient and this material suits me for it allows my painting a speed, a raw aspect, sometimes violent; I work in a kind of urgency.
