About The Artwork

This is a diptych made of two parts: « Camden roofs » (lower part ) and « I am not a number » (higher part) are too separated paintings of each part 35H/70W/2cm; Together they form one 70H/75W/2D Camden market is a place in London that I love most. It’s worldwide food, it’s particular atmosphere of vintage and modern. Normally it’s a very touristic area, with it’s exotic cuisine, cheap vintage clothes … it’s a trip abroad as well as a trip in the past. The higher part is called « I am not a number » in reference to the famous sixties British series called « The Prisoner ». Bubbles are surrounding the city and engulf it, little by little. Like this coronavirus crisis makes us prisoner: between Lockdown and curfews… Engulfed by waves of fear, stuck to the ground with no possibility to flew. Acrylic painting on stretched canvas on wooden frame, nailed on the sides: the sides are framed with a black ribbon: no need to frame ready to hang on a wall; protected by a bright acrylic varnish. The paintings can be hang separately or together. +delivered with an invoice and a certificate of authenticity

French figurative painter known for bold colourful urban landscapes. Member of society of SALON D'AUTOMNE Paris Member of the Taylor Foundation, Paris Feb. 2023 PARIS (salon Les Artistes Français) March 2023 : LONDON :THE OTHER ART FAIR August 2023: TOKYO ART CENTER, JAPAN Born in the outskirts of Paris. I live and work in Paris suburbs. Living in a big city for half my life has influenced my work. I have a fascination for cities: noisy, overwhelming and lively, yet hiding people loneliness. I paint mostly urban landscapes: the interiors (shops, cafe, theatre house) full of details and colourful with very few details for the people: they are just part of the scenery. I’ve worked for the theatre for ten years and that experience gave me a love of colours, of framing my subject a certain way. I’m not looking for the exact repliqua of the reality but for an emotion I want to convey in my paintings through colors. My work is made of lots of layers of acrylic on a canvas, quick rough brush strokes and vivid colours. I use acrylic because it’s a medium that corresponds to my character: I’m impatient and this material suits me for it allows my painting a speed, a raw aspect, sometimes violent; I work in a kind of urgency.
