About The Artwork
After finishing my watercolour series God's presence in Jasmine, I carried on my experiments with collected natural fragments. I pushed this idea further by playing with scale and details. The combination of magnification and exploded view led to an oversized painting. This series is also a nod to “Painting Technique”, a book by Bohuslav Slánský. The book is often uncritically considered as a reliable technical reference. Going against some of his recommendations I layered Caput mortuum to obtain a deep beautiful darkness. Part of a series called Mr. Slánský, let me disagree. Mixed media on canvas.
