About The Artwork
Subject inspired by a real story and choosen because there are many car accidents on the highways by people who drives as if they were on a racing circuit. It is one of the few times that I painted a subject about a true story. I tried to represent colors that a driver can see from the rear-view mirror , when the car glass from the back front is breaking after a crash. Even if it is a dramatic subject, this abstract artwork is supposed to see over the story who inspired me. The abstract is an opportunity to see something else.

Elise Tanari is a Swiss artist who's still living in Switzerland. All her paintings are made in acrylic in canvas. Most of them are inspired by texts of the old French and German literature written between the 12th and 15th century. Colors of the back front are trying to give a personal interpretation of the atmosphere of the stories. Literature and painting are for this artist together very connected. For Elise, it's a complementary, but she choose not give any title anymore and wishes that each of us has the possibility to see what they wish to see. In one word: to appropriate of the artwork. Now she shares her time between painting (exhibitions included) and teaching French and German.
