ABOUT THE ARTWORK
It is an experiment with materials to create interesting textures and composition. I layered acrylic paints on canvas and then carved it using a knife and a screwdriver. I did not make any sketches beforehand what to do and how, I just let the painting flow, create itself. Therefore, the whole process of making it was extremely meditative and inspiring for me. It calmed me down and gave me lots of ideas what to paint next in the future. Sometimes I carved so deep that there are little holes. If you put the painting against a window, you will see the light coming through transforming the painting into something else.
