About The Artwork

The official name of the cashew apple is anacardium, due to its heart-like oval or pear shape. When it ripens, it takes on a yellowish or red color and grows to roughly 2 to 4 inches (5 to 11 centimeters). It is also called the maranon in some regions. Since they are not traditional fruits that serve as coverings for seeds, cashew apples are viewed as a pseudofruit, or accessory fruit. They grow from flowers on the cashew tree. The actual fruit grows as an extension, called a drupe, from the cashew apple, and it is this extension that contains the cashew nut. Due to their sweet taste and smell, cashew apples are a popular food item as well. The pulp and juice have a tropical citrus-like flavor and contain high amounts of vitamin C.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I've always been fascinated with watercolours. It is the technique I use the most. My subject matters come from my everyday life: vegetables and fruits, mundane objects, views from where I live, anything that will attract my attention because of the lighting, because of the texture, because of the colours or, simply because they defy me! A couple of years ago I joined the local Urban Sketchers group and we try to meet, once a week, weather permitting, to sketch on location. This has been very beneficial to me, I see the progress not only in my work but also in the way I look and perceive the world around me. I have the honour of being the country leader for FabrianoinAcquarello 2020. This is a watercolour festival that happens every year in the town of Fabriano, Italy, famous for its paper manufacture since the middle ages.
