About The Artwork
Castle Fragmented, this segment of sculptural paintings consists of 5 modules of a series entitled Castle I, was inspired by a proportion and architectural character of a romanesque gallery in Wroclaw, Poland and later also exhibited as Castle Unfolded in NYC . The installation originally consisted of 22 pieces. Each single module is 18" x 9" x 4", acrylic on wood, silver, copper and aluminum leaf. Because of various metal properties some surfaces of pieces covered with silver leaf tarnish with time and therefore have added antique quality. Fragments of the Castle are of various sizes depending on number of pieces and spacing between them. The color and light of these sculptural paintings change with mood of the day and lighting in the room. These architectural installations can accommodate and enhance any given environment.
