Dia de Muertos in Mexico is the most beloved and heartfelt celebration, especially in the state of Oaxaca, where I live. People dress up and watch their own dead in the pantheon all night dancing, drinking and eating. The most iconic figure there is it is the Catrina that represents the same death. I love these dates, they have a very peculiar sense that made me reconcile with death and the pantheons. It is an illustration of how colorful Mexico is also in the pantheons. This work is done in watercolors and acrylics on a special paper called "amate" made from the bark of a tree.
