ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I've often used my closet for inspiration and this painting came from a striped shirt. I selected a pie slice from a photograph and traced and flipped to create the eight slices that form the mandala. This was created without digital assistance and by hand and eye only. Besides white I used only two colors in this painting; thalo green and cadmium red. I think of these paintings as images that can inspire peace and meditation.

I've never imagined being anything but an artist, although there was a time after graduating college that i had to wait for my ideas to come of age. Although I'm a native of the East Coast, after working in Santa Barbara since 1976 and the California light, colors, and aesthetic has been the strongest influence on my work.
