About The Artwork
The 'Purely Textural Map Points' series is inspired by my travels. Intimate and brief moments connecting with color, texture, and the immediate environment. This painting, 'Champagne Blush' was a fresh moment in Guernesy. The morning was crisp, and while the leaves still green, the dark grey cobblestones wet with melting frost, autumn was here. A lone rose bloom, in what I call champagne blush, was nodding against a dark granite wall. Warmed by the grey stone, it still smelled sweetly of summer. The 'Purely Textural Map Points' series are 12" x 12", created with proprietary texture, glass, metal, foils, and other exciting mediums. Alison Price holds a BA from Augsburg University, and a MA from the University of Wisconsin, Superior. She travel extensively, inspired by new sights, smells, sounds, and emotions. Each work is painted on all sides, no need for framing. Hanging hardware is included.

My family moved to the US from a tiny island in the English Channel. As a child, I would play in the tidal pools, explore the forests, and very carefully, very, very carefully, walk along the cliffs. Guernsey is still my heart, although now the hearty state of Minnesota is my home. My love for water, the sea, the stones and rocks, the trees and wildlife, are combined with my passion for travel and history,and somehow, all this tumbles out onto the canvas. My current series are Purely Textural, Witnessing Waves, Shifting, Road Trip, and my zero waste project, the tiny Fireflies. I hope you enjoy my art, and are able to explore a bit of the magic the canvas holds.
