Tail of the Talisman evolved from a still of digital interference on a TV screen. Looking hard may reveal an image, however, it is the shape the pixels formed that led to such a cryptic title. A circular ring shape is noticeable and links to the ancient symbol of a snake/serpent swallowing its’ own tale - the Ouroboros. Welcome to Chaos Theories. A collection of thought provoking works delving into the how, what, why and where of 21st century living. In this series the titles are of equal importance as the imagery and deliberately paired to invoke deeper contemplation. On the surface is often a singular representation although further examination and thought are encouraged. Are the paintings deep and complex visual essays on humanity or something far simpler? – you decide. The role of technology in a modern society is a common theme in my Chaos Theories collection and whether it has improved or devalued existence is a question for the ages. Painted with archival acrylic paints and finished with gloss varnish for surface protection. Cotton canvas stretched over durable timber support, unframed. Reverse includes heavy duty D-Rings mounted 10cm down from top as well as a wire fixture suitable for hanging either with a track system or single wall hook. Artwork signed front and back. Every effort has been made to colour match, however, please note artwork colours may vary between the original and image on the screen of your device. *The placing of artwork for in-situ photo may not be to exact scale and is only included as an approximate guide.

Drew Harrison is an acrylic paint specialist from Adelaide, South Australia and started his career as an illustrator. As a contemporary artist, Drew regularly explores an infinite set of ideas using a wide array of technical and artistic styles. It is a creative amalgamation which adds greater depth and perspective to the interpretation of a concept. The underlying theme that underpins Drew's work is a search for connections across the complexities of human lives that are becoming increasingly characterized by fragmentation, provocation, and isolation. This allows him to indulge in storytelling with the aim of challenging individual viewpoints. An examination of humanity is often represented subliminally via mechanical and inanimate objects. Most interesting in his contemporary work is his use of hidden context, engaging the observer in the interpretive process. Colour, shape, form and texture are strong hallmarks of his work, and the resultant paintings are defined by bold imagery influenced by realism, pop-art, impressionist and expressionist styles. Drew remains an accomplished fine artist in the field of landscape and aviation/military art and has many prestigious national releases, including for the Royal Australian Air Force Centenary in 2021. He has exhibited in group exhibitions and his paintings are represented in private collections. Those open to exploration will find artwork that stimulates the mind and engages.
