Tail of the Talisman evolved from a still of digital interference on a TV screen. Looking hard may reveal an image, however, it is the shape the pixels formed that led to such a cryptic title. A circular ring shape is noticeable and links to the ancient symbol of a snake/serpent swallowing its’ own tale - the Ouroboros. Welcome to Chaos Theories. A collection of thought provoking works delving into the how, what, why and where of 21st century living. In this series the titles are of equal importance as the imagery and deliberately paired to invoke deeper contemplation. On the surface is often a singular representation although further examination and thought are encouraged. Are the paintings deep and complex visual essays on humanity or something far simpler? – you decide. The role of technology in a modern society is a common theme in my Chaos Theories collection and whether it has improved or devalued existence is a question for the ages.
