Zombie Apocalypse Vacation is a painting which has all the swagger and impact of a Quentin Tarantino B-Grade, schlock movie homage! In this painting the examination and reliance on technology in a modern world is analysed through a simple graphic. A mobile phone is seen stuck in a quagmire of something resembling blood. Is the near empty vessel emerging from the surface or has it caused the brutal, fatal blow?! Welcome to Chaos Theories. A collection of thought-provoking works delving into the how, what, why and where of 21st century living. In this series the titles are of equal importance as the imagery and deliberately paired to invoke deeper contemplation. On the surface is often a singular representation although further examination and thought are encouraged. Colour, shape, form and texture are strong hallmarks of his work, and the resultant paintings are defined by bold imagery influenced by realism, pop-art, impressionist and expressionist styles. Drew remains an accomplished fine artist in the field of landscape and aviation/military art and has many prestigious national releases, including for the Royal Australian Air Force Centenary in 2021.
