Being between Scylla and Charybdis is an idiom deriving from Greek mythology, meaning "having to choose between two evils". Charybdis was a sea monster, later rationalized as a whirlpool and considered a shipping hazard in the Strait of Messina. I represented Charybdis while waiting for the ships.
