About The Artwork
This was a challenge piece which required that I use some glass, something from nature, and fruit. I created a still life to work from using a crystal bowl I owned and filling it with colored glass beads. I took it outside and placed it on an Hawaiian print shirt to photograph it. Then I came back inside and developed a drawing, adding the hummingbird. The phrase "bowl of cherries came to mind and I couldn't resist having the bird pick up a cherry on its tiny beak.
