Cherry Blossom Painting

I use the name Estermano because of my partly Mediterranean descent and because it concludes a certain period of my youth. I was born in Haarlem in 1949 and after several travels and wanderings, Japan , South America, I live in Amsterdam. I work partly in the Netherlands and partly in Spain. I find inspiration in Jean-Michel Basquiat, Sigmar Polke, Mimmo Paladino, Carrevaggio a.o. Also in the practice of the self-defense sport Aikido I find much inspiration. The aim of my work is not to bring a message, commitment or statements, but to search for and break through my own limitations. Although sometimes permeated with my own symbolism, this does not always have a meaning but is more of a confession to myself. The use of all kinds of visual elements, regardless of origin, gives me the possibility to realize them in all freedom to my own pleasure.
