I come from a family of artists who exposed me to art at a very early age. Playing with and consequently damaging my father's art supplies was my favorite pastime. I always knew I was going to paint; this knowledge was driven by the absolute clarity that art was going to be a big part of my destiny. Today my love of art is completely driven by passion, determination and sometimes obsessive dedication. I was born in Bogota, Colombia in a violent time where Marxist guerrillas were battling the government. I came into the world in a unique situation where my mother's uncle was the highest ranking general leading battle against the guerrilla and my father's side had direct family members ranking high in the guerrilla movement. The result from this: awkward family reunions and the incapability of being indifferent to social and political issues that run deep through my veins. I paint from within; my work is intuitive and comes from the heart. There is certain poetry and feeling in a work of art when it's sincere that is impossible to fake. My creative process is a fearless act of creation and a constant exploration of the soul.
