Chocolate Kisses Painting

This work of art was inspired by young African American couples and the great love music produced by Motown groups that were played back in the 60s and 70s. Vocal artists such as the Temptations, Diana Ross and the Supremes, the O'Jays, and many others helped to inspire this work. I hope viewers will feel a greater sense of love and appreciation for their significant other. Additionally, I hope this piece will cause couples to have a greater level of commitment in their relationships. The medium of acrylic was chosen because not only does it dries quickly, but it also blends and mixes very well. It is also a forgiving medium whenever the artist needs to make corrections during the design process. The subject matter was chosen in an effort to encourage couples to stay in love, have fun together, and appreciate one another. The abstract style was selected to bring about interest in using multiple colors, especially in skin tones. As seen in the artwork, the skin tones illustrate a large variety of colors which might suggest that the couple is being aroused, stimulated, and becoming excited over one another's affection for the other.
