I investigate how human beings construct reality by attributing existence to absence. I understand this through expectation and belief, not as emotions, but as mechanisms that connect us to what does not exist. I define this perception as a “Gaze Full of Longing,” a generative act that brings absence into the present and grants it reality. This gaze unfolds through a cycle of expectation, attachment, and loss. This inquiry arises from experiences of loss and death, where loss is understood as the collapse of relationships and possibilities formed through expectation. Expectation extends beyond the individual into social belief, shaping collective values, myths, and realities. For me, painting is a field where this mechanism can be observed rather than explained. I explore how absence becomes reality through unstable forms, where humans continue to live within worlds shaped by what does not exist.
