About The Artwork
"Cloud Whispers" was painted in 2017, and is part of a recent collection of work, ambiguous in subject matter, but collectively under the theme of light, luminescence and space and air. I feel this piece has a calm beauty. Anchored by the dark shape, the lines and drawing create a sense of movement, as the drifts move upwards towards the golden, heavenly, light-filled area. I love how it the gold & silver leaf shimmer and dance as you move around the painting, creating energy, movement and a sense of space & light. Although abstract in nature, viewers have suggested clouds, the sea, or the heavens as subject matter. The beauty of creating abstract work, is that viewers can interpret their own narrative, or just get lost in the sensual space. This painting measures 100 x 100cms, and the canvas is 10oz cotton duck, stretched on a chunky stretcher with crossbar support. It can be displayed with or without framing, and works equally well in either case, dependant on taste or budget.

Ele Pack received her degree from Loughborough College of Art. She now lives and works in Brighton. UK. She has work in private collections in Canada, the US, Japan and Europe. She has exhibited her paintings both nationally, and internationally. Her work has been exhibited by various UK galleries, and overseas in Germany, Sweden and the US. "I believe that visual language has a potent power, like music or literature. And it has the power to lift, communicate and transform. Using pattern and mark to create rhythm, I use a range of materials; paint, pencil, fabric, collage, metallics, and build up my paintings in a very organic way. I overlay layers of paint, mark and collage to build up the pictorial space. This creates glimpses, hidden spaces, things half_ shown, suggested. I use delicate layers of texture, drawing and colour to create an ambiguous space. The image is then worked and re_worked until the image is “found”. Only when a balance and integration is achieved I feel that the painting is finished. I like to think of them as “visual poems”. This sensual world is one to be absorbed, felt, and enjoyed. "
