About The Artwork

No 2 from an on-going series based on RFID chips, used for monitoring merchandise and consumer behaviour. The abstract forms loosely references US Abstraction from the 1950s and resemble labyrinths, surveillance structures like panoptica and arenas but also zen gardens, where the gravel is raked into neat concentric patterns of straight lines as a form of meditation. The painting is worked on by both artists (Seetha and Kenneth), this one in acrylic with metallic powder added to provide texture. The CM of the title refers to Control Mechanisms", the generic title of this body of work, which has been exhibited widely, in the National Museum of Fine Art, Valletta, Malta, Prague, Galerie Nová Sín and other international venues.
