About The Artwork
Drawing upon my background in geologic science and my passion for dramatic landscapes, “Cold” came to me as an experiment of color. I wanted the colors to retain their character while combining to create a somewhat ominous, isolated feel. Additionally, the materials used to create “Cold” employ every part of my painting process. Paint from tubes, dried, leftover paint from previous works, and dried paint solids from my brush water provide contrasts in texture, color, and light.
