ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This is inspired by a pair of Robert Frost poems, Come In and Nothing Gold Can Stay. (See below) Exploring the depths of the human psyche through bold blocks of contrasting colors. The dark tones represent the profound mysteries of the mind, while the vibrant blue invokes a sense of boundless possibility and serenity. This painting is meant to engage observers, inviting you to dive into your own emotions and contemplate the complexities of the inner self. Bringing this artwork into your space adds a dynamic, thoughtful energy that challenges and soothes in equal measure. This is painted on 3 hollow-core wood panels (see photos). Each measuring 80" high by 32" wide for a complete size of 80" high by 96" wide. It is hung with a French cleat. I can deliver the painting at a nominal cost much less than published rate if within an 8 hour round trip from my studio in southeastern Massachusetts. COME IN As I came to the edge of the woods, Thrush music — hark! Now if it was dusk outside, Inside it was dark. Too dark in the woods for a bird By sleight of wing To better its perch for the night, Though it still could sing. The last of the light of the sun That had died in the west Still lived for one song more In a thrush's breast. Far in the pillared dark Thrush music went — Almost like a call to come in To the dark and lament. But no, I was out for stars; I would not come in. I meant not even if asked; And I hadn't been. ----------------------------------- NOTHING GOLD CAN STAY Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I'm painting my back yard and the world beyond. Familiar, everyday sights that may only get a peripheral, passing glimpse. In-the-moment scenes… a yard sale, a backyard tree house, or a new house foundation under construction and filled with potential. Signs of prior lives… a centuries old, crumbling foundation who's long gone owner held that same potential as today’s builder, a cemetery reclaimed by the woods. Trying to guide the viewer to think in a deeper way, to realize our connection to each other, our environment, our past, and our future. Also re-connecting with an abstract, color-field series from the early 2000's, with inspiration drawn from land and sky and the abstract expressionist movement. In between all that, plein air painting when I can. Nothing beats painting from life. Born and raised in Vermont, living in Massachusetts.
