This work was inspired by social media and how we portray ourselves and see others. Often we react more to what it seems we are seeing versus what we are really seeing. This piece started with a few ai generations and then my imagination took over for drawing and painting the real piece. Through fractured forms and disrupted compositions, I aim to capture the essence of moments when the familiar begins to slip away, leaving behind a tapestry reshaped by time and experience. In each piece, I invite viewers to witness the beauty in the breakdown—the places where life's seams begin to loosen, revealing the complex interplay of emotions and narratives beneath the surface. The title encapsulates not only the physical act of unraveling but also the metaphorical sense of unraveling identities, relationships, and societal norms.

Judy Doherty is an American-born artist based in Denver, Colorado, where she resides with three beloved golden doodle dogs. She is a coop artist member of D’art Gallery on Sante Fe Drive in Denver. She is the mom of one adult son living in the Bay Area. Judy works with many mediums, including watercolors, gouache, acrylic, carbon, charcoal, and ink, on topics about environmental sustainability. Currently, she is working on illuminating the importance of pollinators and the urgent need to protect their habitats. With the declining populations of butterflies and other pollinating insects, we face a looming threat to global food security and ecological stability. She strives to raise awareness of this pressing environmental issue through her art. Judy began her art career at age 4, working alongside her mom, one of 5 founding members of the Palm Beach Watercolor Society, carving wood for prints, painting, sculpting, and making collages. She attended the Culinary Institute of America and became a pastry chef before launching a successful commercial food photography studio.
