About The Artwork
This work "Connections" is a multi-panel, born in the midst of the confinement caused by the pandemic in 2020 and I finished it in 2022. It is an exercise in interior observation of my house and my own interior observation. It is being in my living room of my house alone observing the large window towards the garden and the different reflections that occurred inside the living room. The passage of time and the change of light on objects, the external luminosity and the internal darkness. It is made up of 5 panels, two vertical colored panels, one green and one violet and three panels composed of dark shapes and white lines and I integrated beige blocks and then when putting together the puzzle I felt that I should integrate part of the colors of the garden as interior reflections in greens and violets. Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
