ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A ship may look massive, but when caught by the sea is just a small thing to play with. January 2019 a ship lost its cargo near the islands in the Waddenzee. The containers were stashed on the deck, but were not secured well enough to stand the storm. The photo's showing the cargo ship inspired me to make this painting. The colours of the ship, the containers and the see are reflected in the painting.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

At the moment what fascinates me most is the combination of geometric and organic shapes. Maybe this is because I live in a polder: a man made, fully designed piece of land. The shapes of the fields are rectangular, the buildings are modern, not ornamented. They form a sharp contrast between the Dutch sky, the trees, lakes and wildlife. I was born in the Netherlands and live in the new town of Almere. A town 7 meters below sea level. Though I followed one year of art school and a three year course in oil painting, I am largely self taught.
