About The Artwork
I was inspired by another artist that has a series of "industrial" style pieces, so I wanted to try my hand at it. My work has lately turned to subtle indications of our social- political status in the U.S. over the past decade. I wanted to show tension and contrasts of various kinds throughout the piece. The loose strokes amidst the clean, precise edges. The cool colors of the exterior of the furnace while there was a fire raging inside. The heat of any given situation is neatly "contained" with little indication of the severity, but you know it looms.
