ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Painting describes the Positive vibes through the Woman in the picture. The message it conveys that Women are capable in Multitasking, able to adapt to the changing needs in personal and professional life with the ability to juggle their priorities. Painting further explains that Women think far ahead and plan their tasks and have the ability to fulfill their responsibilities. Their mental capabilities are strong enough to handle complexities and handle stress better. The painting explains Women in the society heave enormous influence among the people around with their ability to transform the complex tasks into effective completion by prioritizing. Women’s contribution to the progress of the society, community and its Country has been immense and influential. They have shown their empowerment comes from within and not from others. The background greenery in the painting relates to Mother Nature that biologically caters to the World while providing the comforts to the living species which may not be visible always: Likewise the Woman in the Society manages her family, adapts to the social demands and performs her duties towards the Community and the Country without actually being visible enough for others to realize. That’s exactly the reason for combining the greenery at the back ground and the Woman. The Woman’s hand in the painting explains the surroundings the Indian Women come across through their lives since childhood. It shows her struggles through the rural areas to earn a livelihood and commuting to the workplace. It further shows the life cycle of butterflies that explain of all the things and the people she came across at various stages. The Woman as the nature raises her Children to become responsible and the flying away of butterflies from the hand, depict those children to have grown into independent individuals to face the World on their own and further spread their wings. The spark in the eyes radiates the Love, Emotions, and the happiness seeing that her passion and contribution to the society has been fruitful. To conclude, this painting is a tribute to every Ordinary Indian Woman who has silently contributed extraordinarily to the society, the Country in building lives of the humans.

ARTIST STATEMENT “I believe in fearless, honest and subtle expressionism to celebrate the power of emotions” Painting has always been the way in which I express myself; show the world what I see and what I feel. Oddly, I feel more at ease expressing the deepest layer of my thoughts through paintings than through words. As an artist based in the United Arab Emirates & India and being a true wanderlust at heart, I have had the pleasure to meet and interact with many people with differing thoughts, opinions, beliefs and faith. It is this exposure coupled with my own thoughts and ideas that I express through colors in my paintings. For this exhibition, I wish to celebrate the power of freedom and choice. Particularly, my thought on Feminism, Race, Stereotypes and the Ideal World is depicted through my paintings. It’s your choice now to perceive it the way you want. About Gomathi Shiva, a child hood art enthusiast and an adventurist, created a few portrait paintings as early as from the age of 5. Having moved various countries in the Gulf from Oman to UAE, Qatar and back in UAE, Gomathi had been capturing quite a few interesting facets of life and associated cultures in the Region. Her paintings are influenced by Art, Culture, Nature, and Portraits & Portfolios bringing life and emotions in the paintings. Gomathi has been doing customized paintings as required to suit the needs of the Customers/Art enthusiasts. Pencil sketches, paintings portfolio pictures, creative paintings from photographs are her forte apart from her own imaginations. Gomathi is an expert in making custom made paintings as well and many of her recent works are few of the many work she had carried out. With insatiable appetite for Lights, Shades, Colors & Nature, her attention to even minutest of the details are her Forte. Pious by nature and upbringing, she has a passion in pursuing her interest further. As it is a Universal fact, Everyday is a learning process; Gomathi acquires and enhances her skills through various sources. Some of her works include varied themes; Nature, Wildlife, Culture depicting emotions and feelings. The paintings are Oil on Canvas, Acrylic, and Water color besides, she also carries out portraits using Charcoal and pencil sketches.
