Copper Texture, Steel with wood, 2008, 66x41, 2008, Archieve No. 104 Copper Texture was exhibited in “IL METAFORMISMO” PALAZZO DUCALE DI SABBIONETA, Italy, a review of artistic languages expressed without figure and yet legible thanks to Metaformism, by Giulia Sillato, art historian of the Longhian school. The passage of the underlying structure in canvas and metallic materials, did not occurs repetitively but rather through sequential meditation which values shape and color, therefore inducing him to totally eliminate the decorative incidence in order to maintain the clean and essential handling of the metallic surfaces with effective ability. With this contemporary painting, he thus point out the dichotomy of art, however maintaining himself within craftsmanship mastery, above all in his most sublime expressions. The geometric pictorial elements that support the arrangement and determines architecture, planning and expression, are reabsorbed by the metallic bodies on the surface and take on the configuration of the single, very deep and large cuts, which substitute the classic oil on canvas organization and give life to a kaleidoscopic imagination of an allusive, fantastic world made of symbols and Hitchock-like dreams. Here, Fontana's citation is inevitable. The art of radical ideology, which in fact was popular in the 1960s and 1970s, gives way to more "positive" aesthetics and transmits a more pleasent and constructive sense to life. The artworks is also published in the catalog of Italian Modern Art no. 51 - EDITORIAL GIORGIO MONDADORI

Contemporary italian artist Antonio Saporito, live in Turin, Italy. His artistic training is influenced by the modern and contemporary figurative art of the 60s by and the masters of Italian Arte Povera. The meeting with Lucio Fontana was particularly significant. The reflection on his work, particularly mark the development of the artistic research of Antonio Saporito. THE GEOMETRIC SPATIALISM The geometric spatialism is the Saporito's original research. Strongly anchored to material, this one, cut, shaped and perforated with surgical and geometric rigor, represents the synthesis of Saporito's art. Steel, aluminum, copper and lead are wisely transformed into labyrinths of carved signs to reveal the beyond there is behind the material. The rigor and the essence that characterize his works become elements to transcend reality, to look and scan what exists behind the appearance, in the continuous search of the unknowable, of the future, of the unreachable mystery of man.
