Cosecha (166165) Painting

My work is inspired in the contradiction the Andean People live by worshipping the Christianity at the same time that they revere their on Gods, like the Mamapacha, the Mother Land. In the 15th Century the Spaniards conquered the Old Peru, looking for gold. Priests were sent at the same time to convert the primitives in to sons of God. Rejection was punish with death, so not much could be done. Such duality has lasted for centuries and that is the essence of my painting. Regarding influences, I have to name 3 Peruvian Masters, Diego Quispe Tito, Pancho Fierro and Teofilo Castillo. My technique represents my subject by showing the spirituality of the people of the Andes by showing the drawing. In some cases I did not even paint over it, to get deeper effect.
