At the mouth of the Douro River is this Farolim da Barra do Douro, in Portugal. The painter presents us with the Lighthouse on the coast of Portugal where the light of sunset turns this work of warm tones. The view goes to the lighthouse, located at the golden point. There is a stillness in the scene and the atmosphere achieved suggests relaxation. This increases it through the chromatic range represented. Soft contrasts of blue tones in the sea with pale and salmon pinks in the sky melt to yellows that blend with very pale blues. The painter flees from the representation of figures in the work.
