Critical Thinking Fading in the Noise Painting

Angeliki Charalampopoulou is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist based in Nicosia, Cyprus. Her work spans painting and photography and centers on the human figure as a site of existential tension, identity fragmentation, and perceptual instability. Working through semi-abstract figuration, chiaroscuro, and material-driven surfaces, she explores the fragile thresholds between presence and absence, intimacy and distance, selfhood and performance. Figures in her work often appear partially revealed or dissolving, suggesting identity not as a fixed state but as something constructed, eroded, and continuously negotiated. Influenced by existential philosophy, posthuman thought, and psychological inquiry, Angeliki approaches art as a space of questioning rather than resolution. Her practice invites the viewer into moments of uncertainty—where meaning is not imposed, but sensed—allowing each work to function as an open encounter with the instability of being human.
