Crowd Painting

Damir goes into the problems that surround us in everyday life. He contrasts harsh materialism with the spiritual in man, deforming forms to the limit and dimming the color of his painting palette. Work is defined by light, with controlled, sfumatic brush movements, blurred contours, which gives it a sacred character and moves it beyond reality. Following the movements of the brush, the characters are constantly in motion and their changing emotions are present at every moment, so that the canvases leave the impression of being alive, fluid, in motion. In the horizontal composition in which the characters they crowd into the frame and with their accumulation in the flat space create Horror Vacui, giving the picture a spiritual character. In his works, the artist is not narrative, but with different deformations of physiognomy, reproduces a palette of psychological states in the other world and influences the observer, who can recognize some emotions that are close to him and have already been experienced. After endless struggles for survival, for a place in society, in a word for survival, bodies with depersonalized physiognomy, caught at the moment of transition from the physical to the spiritual. In that at the moment the forms flirt with abstraction floating in a vaguely defined space and preparing for the journey towards peace, in order to move away from the existing material world. All Damir's characters are tired of fighting for success, climbing the ladder of values imposed by modern society. In the global, material world of constant changes in trends, fashion, eternal youth and beauty, they are left without personality, their character and work is reduced to a predetermined form and prescribed template. Through artistic intervention, Damir "plucks" his characters from the template, returns them to the earth and manages, despite fashion trends, to stick own principles, creating their works and worldviews exclusively with personal emotions.
