About The Artwork

Cuban Balseros Painting is the illustration of the cover of the novel entitled: "The love of a blind man with a deaf woman" (https://www.amazon.com/-/es/Juan-Prieto/dp/1257092995). Balseros (Rafters, from the Spanish Balsa Raft) was the name given to boat people who emigrated without formal documentation in self constructed or precarious vessels from Cuba to neighboring states including The Bahamas, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands and, most commonly, the United States. They emigrate fleeing communism and looking for freedom.
