ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Flowers always have a magical sense to me because they are so purposeful and full of life and yet so temporary. Flowers are appreciated globally in every culture and regarded throughout civilization, so there is a universality to them as a motif in any room in any form. For me there is a great deal of fun in the challenges of representing flowers in paint. As a natural history buff, I feel they will always be a part of my work.

Other times I wandered in and through creeks or local ponds, considering the flora and fauna, the color of the mud, live and dead leaves, or the texture of the soil.
