About The Artwork

Yellow is normally considered the colour of energy and positives. It is the colour of the sun, of light. The colour of a happy face. No wonder the social media’s most popular emojis are yellow. Tae Yun Kim in “The First Element: Secrets to Maximising Your Energy” states that it is yellow that has an energetic vibration that brings about energy and “promotes a clear state of mind”. The place where I feel most overwhelmed and surrounded by yellow is on the streets and in public transportation. Almost everything is yellow. Danger! Warning! Advanced Warning! Parking Suspended! Detour! Road ahead closed! Please do not cross the yellow line, train approaches! Danger of death! Caution wet floor! In theory, yellow is a positive vibration, in practice, seems to be the brand colour of the cautionary tale. Yellow became aggressive, and almost too alertive. Now, every time you turn and see yellow, your body is so used to associate it with danger that you startle a bit. What is it that I cannot do or should be cautious about now? Your subconscious might think. Yellow is the highlight of our commute, pun intended. And so the one emotion that we carry and can fall into that can be both overwhelmingly positive and energetic, and cautiously dangerous is LOVE. The series I created back in 2016 is an attempt to put love into a new color perspective, the crazy yellow theory.

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My passion for art started at an early age, while experiencing the changes in colors and style with the fall of the Soviet Union. I began painting and drawing more intensely around 2005 when I moved to the US for university. Although I studied biochemistry and economics, I spent my summers at the university’s arts centre. When I quit my corporate job in London, I rediscovered immense pleasure and relaxation in painting, an activity that soon developed into a passionate calling. I continue to learn and experiment with acrylics, paste and charcoal. Being a fan of hot and sunny weather, which is rare in London, I use mostly bright colors to transform a blank canvas into abstract images inspired by everyday experiences.
