Dark and Light Painting

After all of these years with racial struggles and triumphs in our country, although we’ve made some great strides with racial equality, we are still very far from the colorblind acceptance and trust that we should have for one another. The bull makes symbolic references to power, determination, physical strength, stability and confidence. As we consider the way we relate to those that are different, how can we consider these qualities in them? How can they be used in a positive way instead of as a negative? I was interested in the angular shapes formed between the two bulls and their horns, and used expressive color and strokes in the clash between the extreme colors. There are so many colors within the white and even within the black. Framed in simple black painted wood. Ready to hang.
