About The Artwork

oil on wood. I am a spiritual person, ideas comes from within, I like the be surprised by the way a pieces come out, instead of having a lot of control over it. working with opposites or color, love the friction of purple and yellow in this one. The yellow is a surprise and makes the piece. the yellow is right out of the tube and applied with the tube at the end.

I have always loved drawing, ever since I can remember and was encouraged to draw and paint from a very young age. It's definitely, for the ones who know me, the best way for me to express myself! Growing up, weekends were spent mostly going to art museums. I studied every brush strokes of the impressionist to the modern paintings at the Jeux de Paumes, the Louvres, Beaubourg in Paris or the Tate in London. I was  raised in Paris and London. At 19, I set out for New York to attend the Parson's School of Art and Design.  I actually finished my studies back in London at Central St. Martin's College of Art and Design and got a Set Design BA. Since I have worked in the movie industry for a decade, in furniture design for 3 years, fashion design for 2, textile design now 6 years and interior design since 1998. I like working in different mediums in keeps me on my toes. But painting has always been my rock, the basis of it all. i started selling fine art professionally since 2003. Last year I learned how to use an old victorian letter press and making my own business cards, packaging and greetings cards and applying it to making art pieces with the letterpress. Last year I did an art road show at Costco and an art show at Flipp in San Francisco and sold on Fab.com! This year Room Crashers has commissioned an art piece for a room they redecorated and it will be on the air on the 29th January 2012 and I will be hosting an art event at San Diego Art Walk in April, teaching water colors and silk screening. I suppose the purpose of all of my work is to inspired others, to bring joy into their lives. If you are lucky an artist finds out early that it is a strength seeing life differently and you are here to expend other's mind. I see work as a journey for me and who ever I am involved with. Each project is a new experience and I hope to bounce off ideas with the people I work with and grow in the process. If I like to bring joy and wonder, that is my favorite thing to do because if you are in the present thoughts are fresh and new and it brings out my best work, make sense?
