Painting: Oil on Canvas.
Unlike the original mythology story, my interpretation is different as I have not only choosen to
reverse the genders of the main characters, but I also have replaced the 3 main female characters;
Aphodite, Hera, And Athena with David, Dionysos and Hermes, respectively. And the Troja prince is
now a High society lady named Paris,
As for the fourth male Character, a music angel, I have noticed in some old master paintings for example,
that of Lucas Cranach, there is another female character in the scene as well, but not an important part
of the main story. I replaced her with him.
Location of event:
I have created the scene in the way that it suggests it happens in a museum that
is exhibiting statues if all these male characters. The modern Paris came to the exhition and as she
walks through the room, all of the male statues turned alive and all try their best to impressed Paris
with their best qualities. As for Paris, Prince David appears to be a bit too arrogant, Dionysos deal with
wine and Alcohol might be a trouble for a relatioship, Hermes, a dedicated messenger of God probably
is too busy delivering messages for God and not time for a lovely family. The Music angel impressed
Paris the most with his charm, flowers and music, the things that women love most in men. She then
choose him and give his an apple of discord.
