ABOUT THE ARTWORK
David Lynch is one of the most respected and influential directors in cinema, from Eraserhead to Blue Velvet to Twin Peaks. He also has a striking visual style, with his quiffed hair, tieless suits and wry smile, which I wanted to try to capture as an impression here. The canvas was a 'surprise' find, and wanting to fill it appears to have elongated Lynch's head, and reduced that of the girls kissing him. The result is, maybe, fittingly surreal.

He was born in Exeter in 1975, and currently lives on the West Sussex coast.
