Dawn of a New Era Painting

This work is one of a series of three oil paintings based on the molecular biology of the cell. It documents my own research into the role and function of 'information' in living systems. And it artistically documents the revolution in our understanding of how biology functions that began in 1953. It includes the concepts of molecular biology, biosemiosis and biophysics. I brought into the composition something from astronomy; there is a universe in the cell. It is painted on a pre-stretched Windsor and Newton deep canvas using high quality paint and linseed oil.
