In this piece, I portray a figure dressed as a swimmer, captured in the moment of surrender during a dive — arms open, body suspended, fully infused with watercolor hues. Laxmi is a self thought Visual artist especializede in watercolor, based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Laxmi’s works move away from the pursuit of fixed forms and meticulous detailing, instead valuing the movement and impermanence that dwell in the essence of every being. The stains and transparencies that emerge in her watercolors are not accidents, but territories where subjectivity and emotion take center stage. Each portrait is an internal landscape, a reflection of the vital energy that pulses beneath appearances and relationships. Water, with its unstable and transformative nature, becomes a central element not only in the materiality of the work but also as a metaphor for the human condition itself: fluid, vulnerable, and multiple. Her work also explores the invisibility of bodies—what cannot be directly seen: sensations, memories, and energies that shape our existence but rarely find space in modern life. Though invisible, these subjective layers are as real as physical matter. Furthermore, her art affirms the idea that all bodies exist and matter, regardless of their visibility or acceptance within normative social standards—and, most importantly, in relation to how the individual sees themselves.
