ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Greek female goddess represents the archetype of the Great Mother but she is also goddess of the harvest who, providing for the abundance of crops, feeds mortal beings. His is also fertility as spiritual support. She is therefore a female archetype who presides over the natural cycle of death and rebirth. Therefore in the image there is the orange moon behind his statue, and ears of corn as symbols. On the myth of Demeter and her daughter Persephone were founded, starting from the seventh century BC. , the Eleusinian mysteries, of pre-Hellenic origin, which took place in Eleusis, in Attica, as propitiatory festivals of agriculture and the fertility of the fields, with meanings and symbols in relation to the mystery of birth and death. Here Demeter is represented with her face deconstructed and recomposed like a pinwheel, a pinwheel that recalls the sun, without which the physical nourishment of the grain could not grow and the psychic nourishment could not exist: the ability to protect, generosity and propensity to help that arise from the light. My artistic way is focused on portraits, in which the figures accompanied by color and full of emotion, want to tell stories and archetypes of spiritual, existential and social issues in a style that "interrupts" realism: perceiving rather than seeing, subjectivity before objectivity. Oil and acrylic on paper glued to wood , 40x50 .
